I’m grateful to be at a point in my career where my portfolio attracts people who want to create something unique, or just confidently be themselves. James was one of those people ❤️🎓 

I didn’t realize until after we’d wrapped up our shoot, but I actually photographed James once before at @vrocc’s Viva Mexico Festival in 2023! I love “small world” moments like this, and it only made this collaboration that much more special :)

One of the great honors of my profession is helping my friends commemorate their accomplishments 💙

Bhumika and I met a little over a year ago in somewhat formal circumstances. We exchanged advice and thoughts on concert photography and the media industry in general, but we quickly became closer friends outside of photography (even sharing a spontaneous Twenty One Pilots experience)! 

I admire how hard Bhumika works to improve her craft — whether it’s trying a new photo technique at a live show or dedicating herself to her law school studies. And even with a lot on her plate, she always manages to make time for the people in her life, which I appreciate so much <3 

@lensofbhumika, thank you for having me photograph this milestone for you and your family. I know you’re gonna go far 🎓⚖️🫶🏽 (you already have!) 

Being an immigrant myself, I know how important it is to honor your roots, so it means the world to me when my clients share their stories and I’m able to make their families feel comfortable and seen ❤️

Including family and friends in your grad session makes the experience even more special. This isn’t just a quick photoshoot — it’s an opportunity to honor the people who’ve made sacrifices and supported you along the way. I’m grateful I can document that kind of love and connection. This morning with Katherine’s family was a perfect example of that 🫶🏽

Lilyana graduated from Northeastern’s Accelerated Nursing Program, and we had the chance to do this shoot right before campus got busy for commencement. A little less than a quarter of the graduates I work with every spring are from Northeastern, but it’s definitely one of my favorite campuses to work at! Especially this time of year :)

This was an April weekend of many postponed sessions (thanks Boston weather :/). But thankfully Lillian had access to her lab at HMS, and the wind settled down enough for some outdoor portraits at the end ☺️

As I prepare for this year’s grad season, I’ve been looking back at my past shoots — including this one with Miu at Harvard University, from four years ago! One of my favorite film stocks is Portra 400, which also inspired me while editing Miu’s portraits (shot digitally).

I’m always looking for ways to break the mold, while embracing the qualities that make my work timeless. The goal is for my clients to feel comfortable and treasure the moments we documented. Gabriella graduated from Harvard with her Master’s in History of Art and Architecture in 2022 and is currently working on her PhD dissertation. I’ll never get used to how cool it is to meet all kinds of graduates and hear about their passions — this shoot was no exception!

Abbey was such a delight to work with! From the moment she reached out way back in February with a moody academia vision reflecting her museum studies master’s degree, I knew it was meant to be 📚✨

I'm glad Abbey suggested The Boston Athenaeum for the first half of our shoot, as I'd never taken photos, let alone visited there. It was breathtaking! We easily could have spent an extra hour there admiring the space and discussing our favorite art museums. I’ll have to go back sometime :-)
